How To Use Buffet-Style Catering For Your Event

by Paul Watson

One of the most stressful parts of planning an event is picking the food. After all, serving food to a number of guests can get quite pricey. Luckily, there are quite a few ways you can save money on food. One of the best ways to save is by choosing buffet-style catering for your event. This is going to simplify the complexity of serving food at your event. Here's what you need to look for when planning your buffet-style event:

Simple Food:

Keeping the food simple makes it much easier to serve and looks nicer when it's laid out nice and simple on the serving table. When the food set-up is too complicated, your guests can be confused as to how they are supposed to put it together on their plate. When you meet with a company that provides buffet-style food services, be sure to take a look at their menu choices, as well as photos of previous party set-ups to be sure that it appears simple for your guests.

Simple Silverware:

Be sure that the silverware is not heavy. Your guests are going to be getting up out of their seats to serve themselves. You don't want them to worry about dropping their silverware on the way back to their table. However, you also don't want it to appear cheap by choosing regular plastic silverware. Instead, you can choose the plastic silverware that is made to look like it's actual metal silverware.

Simple Labels:

Although you picked a simple food menu, you still want your guests to know what they are getting. After all, some foods look similar to one another, such as turkey and chicken. You want to be sure that your guests don't confuse these things, especially if they end up with an allergic reaction. Be sure that the buffet company you look into hiring provides elegant labels for your guests.

Simple Drinks:

On top of simple food, you also want simple drinks. The glasses should not be too heavy either. High-quality plastic, especially if it's made to look elegant, will make it easier for guests to take their drinks to their tables. The glasses should also be tall, which makes spilling less likely. The best way for your guests to serve themselves drinks is through a spout instead of having to open the drinks themselves and pour it.

When you know how to use buffet-style catering in a simple way for your event, you are sure to make your guests happy while still saving yourself some money.
